Recall that both teams played goalless in 2015 when former Super Eagles player Daniel Amokachi had is debut for the Anambra Warriors as manager.
Coming into this game and despite having a number of Brazilians in the squad, the hosts occupy the 11th position while the Owena Waves are in the fifth position and will do everything to win in their bid to move to the 3rd position.
Striker Ismail Gata feels that as much as FC Ifeanyi Ubah need the three points, Sunshine Stars are in need of the maximum points and will come firing from all cylinders.
“Such games are not easy. It’s not going to be a walk in the park,” Gata said to Goal.
“We will go into this game knowing that it’s a tricky game. As a team we will focus on the game and win.”
However, new signing for the hosts Stephen Adah has stated that victory is what matters today and getting a goal in his debut game is all he cared for.
“I’m keenly looking forward to the NPFL Matchday 25 clash against former side, Sunshine Stars in Nnewi,” Adah said.
“It’s usually fun playing against one’s former side as well as leaving a lasting foot print in the encounter. “I will take the clash as a normal game even the outcome and goal(s), too.
“Although, goals are meant to be celebrated in football I will not go out of my way to celebrate if I scored in the clash.
“Of course, I will want to announce my debut with goal(s) against my former side, Sunshine Stars. That’s the best way for a newcomer to write his name in permanent ink.
